Never heard of this being done to an SRX can, the SXR baffle can be drilled through, making for a more throaty noise and a modest 1 or 2 hp gain.

the SRX can should not be drilled out as it is tuned very well from the factory. Those that have tried have been very disappointed because the backpressure the system is designed to is reduced which in turn causes HP loss. Anything sled with powervalves on it has the exhaust system designed with a very specific backpressure to work with the valves to create the needed power and torque curves.

We drilled one out on a stock SRX last year. We tried multiple runs switching between a stock can and the drilled out can on our track dyno. We did not see any substantial changes either way. If your looking to gain power its not worth the time.

if sound is all your after theres all kinds of " noise" makers out there for a srx, all will let the DNR know exactly where your at!
i wouldnt do it if i were you just take the power you got and forget the noise. id rather a quiet rocket then then piss off all your neighbors because they can hear ya comming from a mile away. i am piping my viper for 1 reason and 1 reason only lots more power to be had. if your going for noise without gaining anything its just like hacking a muffler off a car.... better to go un noticed then wanted... imo lol.
