I was told that one of those years was the better years for the Exciter.
I am thinking that it was a 77 that had more HP but I have sometimers and CRS so if anyone nows let me know. I have a chance to get one for cheap and what are they worth so I don't pay to much for it. He whats $300 but the primary clutch is messed up and needs replaced. I am going to go look at it today so any info would help.

77 was the fastest year. It was a single ring piston instead of dual ring pistons. Also had larger slide carbs. $300 dollars is worth it if it's complete except for the clutch obviously. I do have a primary clutch without spring but has good weights and rollers. Let me know.

I will keep you in mind!! I am going to go look at the sled today and offer him a little lower cause of the clutch but I am willing to pay $300 but im a cheap Basturd!! LOL

Well I went and looked at it and it did fire up and ideled but the carb is gummed up so the throttle won't work. I see a good carb cleaning in the near furture! The seat cover is trashed and the hood has been painted but over all it not in bad condishion. The Primary clutch inner sheve is broke cause of a belt brake but I think I have a extra clutch some where in the pile of goodie I have. Its has ski spreaders and the ski's are in good condishion. I am planning on making it into a ovel racer so it doesn't need to be pretty. I was going to get some photos posted up but my phone died and the sled is over at my shop so once I get them I will post them.
Hay Team Parent Racing- What would you want for that clutch? I also will be looking for some other parts pretty soon.

Well here's a photo of the new addistion to the stable. It needs some work but it just going to be a race sled so it doesn't need to be pretty.

Well I got the carb cleaned and made shure the oil pump was set right. Changed the plugs and put fresh fuel in and she fired on the secound pull. Now my question next is there a set of twin pipes for this sled?

Well got a little work done on the sled today. I put it on a diet to loose some weight.Took the handel bar pad, windshield, Headlight off. Put a piece of lexan painted black in where the head light was. Took the tool box out that was beside the clutch. Pulled the seat off and going to order a new cover for it. I am needing to start on the ski braces and pull the rear suspention to grease and change the hyfax's.
