I am in the process of pulling the carb on my Exciter and seem to be having trouble getting the choke cable disconected from the carb. I would like to get the carb out and clean it but this cable is holding me up.
The cable is stuck/spring loaded in the carb after I loosen the nut at the base of it's entry to the carb.
Is there something special that I need to do to get this apart?
Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Got it.
Found on a vintage site the plunger can get stuck from corrosion. Lots of WD40 or similar product will eventually free it up. Then I put a small piece of 3M #7447 red scuff pad on the end of a drill bit and ran it in the opening with WD to clean up the area.
