I'm installing SRX clutch limiters on two 04 vipers and one 05 viper. One of the 04s is electric start. I believe I was told to use the SRX specs rather then the viper specs for clutch alignment with the SRX torque limiter. Does someone have the SRX clutch alignment specs for both the electric start and pull start versions? If so I would appreciate it.

edunn69,
Thanks for the dimentions. I was wondering though is it 15 mm for electric start and 20 mm for non-electric start. I'm asking this because in the viper manual it's shorter for the electric start and longer for the non-electric start. Just wanted to make sure.

15mm is for non-electric and 20mm for electric start. This is measured off the back of the clutches. When you add a starter gear it is 5mm thick making the offset distance larger.

Ok that makes sense. In my viper manual the measurement is to the back of the primary for non-electric start but it's to the outside (opposite side from the engine) of the ring gear when measuring electric start versions. Your measurement is to the engine side of the ring gear. That explains it.

On another note, do you have a technique for bolting down the engine with this alignment. I have the SRX torque limiter in (not locked down yet) so my plan was to align it best I can, tighten left front engine mount first, check alignment again then tighten left rear then right rear then right front. After that then tighten up the torque limiter. Any suggestions?

I forgot to ask. There is a little in and out play on the secondary. It can be pushed in toward the engine or pulled out away from the engine (maybe 2mm). Is this normal and if so do you measure offset with it pushed in or pulled out? I couldn't find any mention of this in my viper manual.
