I have a set of mach z 38's to put on my srx835, just woundering what the experts did with the trottle position wire that plugs into the stock 33 carbs??? the 38's dont have this???

You can just leave it hanging, but the light will flash. Or you can take the sensor
off the 33's and connect it and just tie it up somewhere.

it affects timing a little. My TPS was toast last year and sled just didn't open up properly..seemed like it was holding back.Got the new TPS on and what a different running sled.

Doesn't the TPS affect timing?

From what I've read a disconnected TPS should not affect timing at WOT (i.e. a drag race application) but a TPS that has erratic or incorrect output can affect ignition timing throughout all throttle openings.

Without the TPS input you'll be running a spark curve primarily based on RPM. The TPS provides an inferred load input to better control spark at differing throttle openings enhancing driveability.

SideShowBob did some testing last year that clearly showed how an erratic TPS affects timing including activation of the DCS. I believe the same sensor was recalled on the R1.

Bottom line - if you're only going from idle to WOT 1320 ft. at a time a disconnected TPS shouldn't make a difference.

I tried to run the SRX with TPS disconnected and it was pure crap..Decided to change it and set it up as per spec and motor works like it should now.

I dont say tps have no effect (raises the midrange timing a few degrees)
but i shore did'nt miss it when i put on the 38's,throttle snap was even better all the way from idle n up. But maybe it would been even better with tps for all i know?
But it's no easy way to mount it on the 38's so it stays on the babie carbs =)

Bye the way,the yammie choke bracket/lever can be used on 38's with a little labor.
If you'r lazy, just weld it on =) Or drill two hols and mount it on the steelbar that holds
the carbs together. I used one of the bolts on the bar but have to weld a nut for the other (or drill and tap). Also working on a bracket so i can use the t.o.r.s. switch on
them. Safety first...
