Rear skid Q

I understand we need to keep our skids in sinc in order to work properly.Meaning both center and rear shock adjusted either soft ride or med or hard.(as Ive been told).
Now some of you guys have been adjusting the center shock with no lash I guess just so you take up the looseness so the spring is not flopping around and setting the rear shock to desired settings.
Does this not through the geometery way out of wack for the bumps.

Its they way I have had mine set from day one. It always rode nice, then came the ohlins rears, now it rides SWEET!!!!!!!!
