Me and my father have a little score to settle. He has a 99 SRX 700 all stock with 96 woody's studs and I have a 2001 SRX 700 with a Bender Clutch Kit and 144 Woody's studs. I know that there is a power difference between these two sleds in my favor but I just wanted to know how much? Both sleds run good as they should. I heard the 2000-2002 made more power.
Tell your Dad ya love him first, then hand him his hiney. Won't be close.

98-99 make around 138-139. while 00-02 is right around 141-142.
In all honesty not a real significant difference, but still definitely in your favor. It will all come down to setup. What does your sled max out at for RPM's with your current clutch setup?

all stock vs clutched, Fusions probably right, in equal state of tune they could be pretty close

X2. Plus stock clutching on 98-99 SRX was brutal.
Depends on what his sled is clutch for also, I'm not too familiar with Bender's clutch kits.

My 99 has beat a lot of 01's. When the sleds are so evenly matched, it all depends on set up & state of tune.

In theory, it's the same as 01, should be around 142 when actually tested.

Per yami's spec pages 01 was/is fastest out of the box. Isnt a big differance between 00 and 02. 99 followed by 98 bringing up the rear. Biggest change in 00 with more horses and shed a lil weight. Fast foward 10-14 yeaars its hard to say which would be fastest by year alone. Clutched 01 should have the advantage but if the 98 hooks beter than who knows?
Even if the clutching was evenly the same the 01 would win the porting is way better than the 99 as is throttle response 2000 and up were improved over 99 but that's my opinion I ride with 7 different 1s from 98 to 2002 it also makes a difference on how much u weigh and how much he does if he's lighter he would probly winCwagner100 said:Me and my father have a little score to settle. YOU GUYS MAKE GREAT POINTS. I BOUGHT A 99 BRAND NEW AND IT WAS A DOG. I PULLED MY HAIR OUT TRYING TO GET THAT SLED TO BEAT MY SX. FINALLY GOT RID OF IT AND BOUGHT MY 2000 WHICH KILLED MY SX. 3:16 (yammie tony)

I had a 99 that had the head gasket ( Thin) and Goodwin performance clutch kit that ran well against almost anything! Those two mods really woke it up. I Ran well vs many stock 01-02's. Your race should be close just like everyone else depends on traction and current state of tune. good luck!

A decent running stock 98-99 SRX700 runs about the same as my 2002 Viper. The 2000-2002 SRX is faster. That is what I have experienced.
