Head squish help

for pump gas, flat cuts, I would stay around .055", you can run down to .050" if the squishband has been modified as far as the angle of it being cut more steeply, stock is 14 degree, this would need to be 17 degree. This helps to relieve the heat from the band and reduce detonation.

Don Thank you very much, Its for a Cat I am working on. Last season he cooked the motor & killed the head along w/some other stuff, The new head has a squish of .047 right now on both cylinders & he wants to run it. I was thinking .055 was where I wanted to be but I have been out of sleds for a bit since the little one showed up.... It's all good. How have you been?

depends on a/c sleds, some use a alot larger then the yamaha's, what model?

Ooop's Sorry it's a '01 600 EFI M/C, I will try to get the old head on tonight & check what it had..... Just by looking @ the chamber between the two I would have to guess between .060-.070 was stock.
