Are sleds, particularly on Craigslist, priced really high right now? I just rebuilt a 2002 Viper thinking it is worth about $2200 (not that it matters because i'm going to keep it) but I see some of them listed well over $3K. Are people really getting that kind of money for used sleds?

here the used sleds are priced to high also. There is a guy on kijiji selling his 80 SRX for $2000 with a torn seat yet.Average prices for 97 to 02 sleds is around $3000 t0 $3500.RX1's going for $5500 plus..that is crazy..

there is well over 1324 used sleds for sale on local Kijiji.Just a few Yamaha's but tons on Arctic Cats and Doos along with some Polaris's

overheard my local dealer talking @ the races a few weeks ago. he says he's expecting used sleds to be the market for him this winter and he stocked up on good used sleds. with the economy still uncertain and the banks aren't lending to people they would of a few years ago.

Same here. Vipers are going for about $3000 and SRX's about $2500 depending on what year. Plus this is the hot time for sleds. You can take $500 or more off that in the early off season. Good to see the sleds holding their value for a change. Of course that can change in a instant!

if you read some of the comments..the guy had tojump of the sled at 60 I think because of the flames and plastic melting..and then watch it burn.Has to do with wrong screws on the fuel pump and leaking fuel..damn good technology there Arctic Cat or should I say Crap..

I'm wondering if people are still riding a high from last years' near record snowfall which is keeping prices inflated. I was just amazed to see all the high prices out there.

Sad to see that cat burn. I saw a video of a doo last winter which did the same thing. Hopefully I never have to experience that. Wonder if insurance would cover it? I'm debating whether to insure mine this year. I considered just going with liability in case one of my buddies rides my sled and can't handle the power of the Yamaha

Prices around here are ridiculous! Most of the sleds are still for sale that have been posted for months. 1. People just don't have the cash to buy toys 2. Asking prices are through the roof. For what I paid last year for my sled, people are asking 500-1000 dollars more for the same sled, same miles or sometimes higher. What gets me is that there are people that most likely take out a loan to buy their new sleds, then they rack up 6-8000 miles on the sled in 3 years, then their asking price is essentially what it's gonna take to pay off the loan. Seen sleds with that scenario going for 3700-4800 dollars! Good Luck! :letitsnow :letitsnow

the same thing is happening here with house sales..used house prices have jumped thru the roof.House prices have risen here 158%. Young people have no chance in hell to purchase their first home and if they can..it is a piece of crap home.A house that sold for $168,000 a year or two ago is now selling for $320,000.Same with sleds, the younger people just can't afford a sled now.Trying to get my nephew for the last 2 years to buy one.he tells me he doesn't have the money for that.I tried selling my SXR600 2 years ago for $3500.It had everything done to it..yet people said to me I am asking to much. Now same sled is selling for same or higher mow..what gives here.

there's still good buys out there, but you have to be in the right place at the right time (plain old luck) and prepared to pull the trigger right away. the good deals don't last, you can't take the time to think about it.

Yep. When I'm in the market for a new toy, I set my budget and keep cash on hand. Sometimes there is nothing you can do. I've showed up to look at an ATV and had two other potential buyers show up at nearly the same time. I refuse to get in a bidding war so I just left. I've also showed up to look at an item after setting a time, only to have the seller tell me he just sold it. That's happened several times. Typically a craigslist ad gets posted for free chickens or goats or something with the sellers email address and phone number I wish I knew how to sign up the email address for spam after they do something like that.

WE got a new rider in the group this year . he picked up a 2001 sxr600 1800 bucks very good cond with m10
