hey fellas.....I picked up another sled.....a ported '98 SRX 700 w/ 135psi with all the goodies but it has a thin bombardier 1" track, every 3rd window closed? I need some studs for this winter....it will be used for trail riding as well as weekend radars and drags. Which studs/picks or chisels do you recommend and what length should i run. I used to use 192 megabites 1.075" on a 1" hacksaw on my 99 srx 700 but this '98 sled has more HP. and this time i would like to try a combo of chisels/picks as well as carbide studs. What do you guys suggest for the best of both worlds...racing and riding...thx

SAME SET-UP AND I LIKE THE STAGGER IDEA EXCEPT YOU WON,T FIND A 1.075 CHISEL AT WOODYS. 3:16 (yammie tony)

192 seem like a lot of studs. Lot of extra weight spinning around under there. I think most manufacturers recommend 1 stud per HP. I am sure your SRX aint 192 HP.

I was thinking the same thing considering rotating massand engine hp..etc. Maybe 144 mix between studs and chisels down center.......just wondering if anyone used chisels on the trail once in a while and how long they held up on trail cruising.......

Its impossible to have the best of both worlds with one track. Chisles will NOT hold up on the trail period. The closest you going to get is lake racers from studboy.
