Got the motor apart on my 98 Srx, figured as long as its apart I would fix the leaky powervalves. Is there an O ring or something in there that needs to be changed? The oil is coming out right where the cable enters the housing.

theres one small O-ring that are on each powervalve: If you are re-assembling it;...The O-ring will be the first thing you put on...o-ring, washer, lockpin, spring, center washer(looks like a solid washer but there is a grove for the powervalve cable to fit in the middle)...etc.

One of mine was spewing oil today, but it only does it on like the first ride of the season, then it doesn't do it anymore. I may just replace them to be on the safe side though.

Thanks for the help. Are they a standard O ring, or is a Yamaha part #.
