I just had some cylinder work done on my viper and I'm about to put the whole engine back together. One thing that I was wondering about was to locktite the exhaust studs in or not? If so should I use high temp/high strength or just medium strength? I'm thinking that not using loctite may be the way to go because I've heard someone say that I'll never get it out again if I need to.

On another note and with a different sled I was wondering if you can change out a head gasket without draining all the coolant or am I setting myself up for an ethylene glycol bath? This sled has been summarized and is just about to come out of hibernation. Hasn't started this year yet.

I would appreciate any input. Thanks.

Super1c, thanks for the info. I got off my duff today and drained it which wasn't too hard. I'm hoping that with it drained I can just unbolt the head and tilt it back to take care of the gasket change. Hopefully there won't be much residual in the head.

By the way, that sled project you worked on with your daughter was great. I can say it was interesting and informative keeping up with your progress. You probably haven't had it out yet due to snow but I bet your anxious to see how it goes.

Thanks again.
