I have a 2000 srx with mega power heads and it had the stock o rings for stock heads and also had a 008 thousand I piece head gasket metal like stock viper. why have both. I did squish test and was 49 thou with both and 41 without metal head gasket just stock o rings.

i'd say they used both to get the squish where they wanted it at .049" which is still alot less than stock . 0.041 is what my 780 is at but i also have to burn 97-98 octane fuel so it doesn't detonate it's self to pieces. don't know what the head is set up like compression wise or squish angle but at .049 you'll probaly need better than 91 octane pump gas.

Pete, it sounds like someone cobbled a layer of a viper head gasket in there to get the squish clearance a little larger. Its hodge podge IMO. I would suggest cutting the domes themselves, to get the squish closer to .055-.058"" to be safe w/todays crap pump gas.
