I don't think it is. I did not buy it and then had an engine failure that would have been covered, but I still would not buy it. It does not cover normal wear items which means none of the things you will normally have to replace are covered. The other, major things that can go wrong most likely will not. The odds say that you will save money without it. There is a reason that Yamaha sells it - because they can pay for the repairs that happen and still make a lot of money. That means that most of the people who buy it are losing money.
