It just occurred to me...has anyone ever considered or tried putting their valves in an oven, then running the self clean cycle? When our burner grates get really bad, I put them thru a cycle and they come out good as new. I've already cleaned my valves so I can't try it yet. Thoughts?

that could work..maybe I should try it next time.... 
just use 1 new razor blade on each one, shave them clean, finish off with carb cleaner and 0000 steel wool.
