I've been working on this old sucker off and on for about 10 years. I had it nearly done and it was backed into outside of my garage by a pickup truck (don't ask, lol)
I rode this one for about 5 years, then it sat for a few when it was replaced with an 02 Polaris Edge X 600. After it was stolen, I started back on the SRV again.
So far I've redone the motor, .060 Wiseco pistons and rings, new crank seals and bearings, Carbon Tech reeds, Aaen trail torquer pipe, jetted the carb (still wanting to put a set of duals from a Phazer on it).
I've started the original skid, idler wheels and sliders but I think it needs a swap. I found a 96 V-Max that would love to donate it's skid, the owner wants a little too much for it in my opinion though... $300.
I've also tried my hand at repairing the hood with fiberglass but I realized that I suck at it, lol. I did find a replacement near by for $100 but if I buy it I'll either need to paint it or change all my plastic pieces. The replacement is an 84 I believe with the original red/orange stripes.
I also changed the skis to plastic Uni-skis.

Here's a couple pics the way it sits, I just need to decide if I'm going to get right into it again or sell it as she sits

well...
Looks like "project SRV" will resume. I've picked up another clutch, I have found a skid from a 96 XT ($100) and hood from an SS440 (not too sure about the hood but for $25 what the hell, we'll make it fit)
I'll get some pics as we progress, this will be for the kids so no rush on this one, lol
