Well I just cleaned the carbs on my SRX and started it for the first time. After running it sounded like it was running on two cylinders. Next thing I know is that I lifted the hood and cylinder two's plug wire is on fire at the boot. Any ideas what would cause this? I have new coils on order, I just want to make sure I do not have another underlying issue.
Thanks,
Dale

this is just a guess but if the cap wasn't screwed into the wire good I suppose it could of been arcing and catch the boot on fire.
when you order a coil...does the cap come with the assembly or is it seperate..i always thought that it was all one..but from staggs comment how it might not of been screwed in tight..does this come in two parts because im having trouble with my coil/cap too an if i could just unscrew the cap an try another one then thats one step closer to figuring my problem out

They are removable. They screw onto the coil wire.
