I recently bought a used bottom end and gave it my own inspection. I found the first crankshaft roller bearing (the wide one on the MAG side) and the corresponding bushing with some significant wear (metal flakes accumulated locally) everything else looks good. i've got a usable bearing from my old crankshaft, but will need the bushing removed and replaced with a new one. Can i have a shop switch the good bearing on my old shaft to the new shaft, and what the going rate for something like this?
Thanks!
Thanks!

you'll have to get the weld cut, pressed apart, on both, then the new bearing put on, re-pressed, aligned and re-welded/ I sure wouldn't pay to have all that done with a used bearing.
ooops, my bad. I thought you were talking about a big end connecting rod bearing.

if it's only the outside brg on the mag side you only need to find some one with a bearing seperator and a press ,10 minute job max.
Its not as easy as you think to get those inner races off, in fact it can be very difficult to do.
i dropped it off at a crank guy this morning. he's going to see if he can remove the used good bushing without damaging it, before trying to remove the bad one on the "new" crank. we;ll see how this goes...
