I have a 03 mountain viper I bought second hand. I went to clean the power valves and took out the clutch side cylinder power valve and the center cylinder power valve and they were both put in with the larger chamfered cut part of the power valve facing downward BUT the one on the recoil cylinder with the chamfer facing upward. Is this correct for a mountain sled? I also have a 02 viper that I bought with the motor torn apart. Are all 3 power valves on the 02 suppose to be with the larger chamfer cutout part down ? I think thats how they came out. Any help is appreciated. LET IT SNOW ! Thanks, ymhajoe

i just cleaned mine today and adjusted them. chamfered/beveled part down, flat side up. on all three. they all go in the same.. make sure u adjust them after cleaning. there is info on this in the tech section.

Andrew K, Do you have a mountain Viper or regular Viper? I found it odd that the recoil cylinder was chamfer/bevel up on the mountain viper? Didn't know if that was normal for a mountain viper, if it was an altitude thing or something. Thanks, ymhajoe

i have a regular viper. but both motors are identical. no difference in motor. the mountian viper is set up with a longer skid. so no the one powervalve was in upsidedown, someone goofed. glad ya found it. as this was hurting your power.

Andrew is right, motors are identical. All of them should be facing down, someone wasn't paying attention.

Make sure you adjust them, take your time do it right, search the site LOTS of good info on how to do it..

Sounds great, Thanks for all the good advice. I will be working on it this weekend.Nice to have all the quick replys. LET IT SNOW! ymhajoe

Just completed rebuild on 2002 viper, piston, rings, gasket and 1 cylinder. I have 3 questions, 1. Will power valves make contact with pistons or does it not enter
cylinder chamber. I do not want to start if this is going to be a problem when setting them as described in tech section. 2. What is the proper setting for the pilot jet, air from a seated position. 3. Is there a good position to start at to adjust the TORS switch. Had a mechanicwork on a few things but he didnt know what he was doing, told him to start with a compression test and he never did, he was trying to work out the bugs while it only had about 70lbs compression on number 3 cylinder.
