Man oh man I have really been shocked by some of the prices being asked for on the trucks I have been looking at,I mean yeah it's been like 7 or 8 years since I bought my current ride but wow.I am trying to find a replacement for my 99 Silverado LT ext cab in the 2007 - 2009 range and yes I'd like to have leather again but I'm thinking I may have to change my way of thinking.
I figured I'd check out Craigslist and Uncle Henrys in Maine as well but all I can see are prices equal or even above in some cases what trucks are going for here in New Brunswick.
Time to see if the Credit Union manager will lend me some extra I guess. ;)!

my buddy purchased an 04 f250 last year. it had 120k on it 4x4 5.4l gas jobber with heavy duty 8 lug danas and yeah. 12,000 dollars and that was a good deal. prices arent what they usd to be.

way to much for a used truck on that age.Might as well go new already for a few bucks more.Me ,well I love used vehicles..but the prices have to be lower yet..

I got my 06 f-150 a year ago with 40k km's on it for 12,500. I thought that was a real good price. Fourbarell you are correct though, prices are no better in Maine, if not worse and they generally have higher mileage.

Ford, Chev, Dodge, really the arguement isnt there for me. I have a friend who's a Dodge mechanic at a dealership and he told me the new hemi engines are just garbage, they are the only ones I would actually avoid.

Yea, I have powerstroke, Not the 5.4. As far as chevy goes, you cant buy more of a pile of sh** than a chevy. Every chevy around here has half the miles of my S.D. and are in twice as bad of shape. If you want your truck to rust into pieces by 140,000 miles, go get yourself a chevy. I keep my Ford with 280,000 miles & 1 little spot just starting to rust. Not to mention, your great 5.3 Liter, My sister in law & her dad both have had motors replaced in thier 2007, 2008 chevys in the last 2 months. Under 50,000 miles on either.

Chevy all the way!!!!! Ford sux guys come on lol 5.4 is a ticking timebomb compared to the 5.3 gm.
ford makes a great chassis very rigid and durable. chevys ride more like a car. more of a road princess kinda truck. and yes the 5.4 is noted for blowing out spark plugs and cracked headers. which can = out to big dollars for repairs. if ya want a real truck get a little older dodge 2500 with a 5 or 6sp. manual trans as dodge autos are junk. linked to the cummins turbo deisel motor. last truck youll ever need to buy. good for everything. more reliable and durable and then any of the other deisel out there imo. too bad ford didnt put a cummins in thier chassis. ;)!

Been with Ford basically all my life.Reliable trucks that I have owned and still do.I have no complaints with Ford at all.Only small things had to be changed..mostly stuff you have to do anyways with regular maintenance.
Examples: brakes,waterpump,battery,starter,etc.. Mine is a 1996 with the 351 and still going strong. As for rust..just a little starting.I have seen a co-worker with his Chevy Truck which was way newer then mine and he was rusted thru already..that is bad.Insurance is way cheap to run it and it always starts, even out in -40.Never plug her in.

Not too start a brand war but the 5.3 is the better motor hands down as was all of chevys smallblocks in the 2000s compared to ford, LS1, ls2, ls7 etc its been proven time and time again its the same tech theve been using and it works for them. Now ford w the 4.6 and 5.4 both garbage on fuel and reliability. as for rust lol keep your truck clean and cover rock chips and they are all the same lol

Yes Doug the 5.0 and 351 are exellent motors i was just pointing out that when ford went to overhead cams they have had nothing but problems.

im not sure where on you tube i saw it. but there was a ford pulling a full sized camper through the ocean across a flooded out section of beach. it was wild. waves were splashing up on the hood and yes it made it out of the lowlieng part to the other side of the beach where it hadnt started flooding yet.

I've been thinking about buyin an 07 Chevy 2500HD Duramax. Found one with 75,000 miles, 4 door short box, they want almost $31k for it.
