I have 2000 SRX. I have had issue with snow dust getting onto the primary when it is extemely cold, the snow being like fine flour. I have found some of the problems, open gaps around where the shock mounts and where the bumper goes throught the body. I have sealed it up with adhesive silicon. I have aslo hasd to tape off a lot off of the lower vents, including the black down vent on the clutch side. Basically I have on vent on the pipe side left open. Pain in the butt to open and re-seal when the conditions change. Anybody had these issues?

You might have a plug missing in the tunnel beside the rear motor mounts. I had the same issue, as soon as I hit powder or water the clutch would slip. There should be black plastic plugs in the holes beside the motor mounts, otherwise it will spray snow/water right onto the clutch.
