Hey guys,

I have encountered an issue with an 02 Viper I purchased at the end of last year.
I was just going through the preseason carb cleaning and powervalve cleaning/adjustment. Decided to take off the pipe/mainfold to clean everything up a litte more because that's just the way I am.

I noticed the engine had some excessive play in terms of the motor mounts. Upon further inspection I have found the the PTO side motor mount where it bolts into the bosses on the bulkhead are stripped out. Nothing appears to be broke - it just looks like someone got too aggressive when tighetning the bolts.
Obviously this blows but I am wondering about rethreading this and running larger bolts down through. Anybody ever done this before.

Also - I will be installing the SRX limiter.

I think that SRX limiter is a good idea. I just put them on all three of my vipers. I'm hoping that I will not have the belt wear I had last season. I checked clutch offset and center to center and they were spot on.

I have a theory that the engineers were trying to save weight and they probably over estimated how good their motor mounts were.

As for the bolt, I don't have any experiance to draw from but it sounds like it's a solid plan.

pretty sure the original bolt is a 10mm thread so with the threads pulled out it's probally at just the right size to run a 7/16 unf tap down through ,two 7/16 fine bolts and blue loctite and it will good as new.

good idea 9801, might be a good idea to run reccomended drill bit for that tap down thru. place it in hole first to see if it is needed. use at least grade 5 bolts i would think.
