first off id like to say i havent been on a sled in two years. i ended up buying a viper this fall, and immediatly started tuning it without even taking it for a first rip up the yard. now it has a hauck/cpr pipe setup. with all the supporting mods needed clutch setup, and help with jetting was made possible by the members on this site. to which i thankyou for.... now i just got this thing together last night. and started making final adjustments today. pipes need to be at 9100rpm. my first run was 8ca weights, empty, ywy primary, 49/37 bender helix, red spring @60 twist. right away it over revved to around 9500 to 9600. so i pulled it back in and installed 4.5g weights in the tip, now its at 8900 to 9000 rpm. and id like to say wow, its hard to hold onto this thing and keep an eye on the tach at the same time, we have no snow just grass, so maximum traction. the skis kinda bob at a low hoover. these yamis really rip!!! i have a set of 3.6g rivits i wanna try next. i guess my question is does anybody think this will be too much of a drop in tip weight? or should i just skim a little off my 4.5g rivits. and just keep em balanced with a gram scale? :rocks:

try shaving a tad off the 4.5's.But you should really have the sled out on hard pack snow first to test properly. Then see what is happiening to the rpm's.Might just be wasting your time on it now in the grass. You will have more slip in the snow and a true reading on average..be patient and wait for good conditions..

good thought, right now i have more load on the motor then i would in snow. i guess im just a little antzy but they say patience is a virtue. i suppose i will wait for optimal testing conditions. id like to try to avoid chasing my tail. :rulez:

a good member on here Turk(may he rest in peace) always told me I am wasting my time tuning in the beginning of the season or in loose conditions.I learned a little from him about patience....at least I think I did...lmao..

WHY YOU WANT TO ADD THE 3.6 RIVET. THATS GONNA TAKE YOUR RPM BACK UP. THAT SLED IS SPOT ON. NOW YOU CAN FINE TUNE WITH A HELIX. CAN OVER REV THOSE TRIPLE VIPER PIPES, THAT FALL OFF FAST. 3:16 (yammie tony)

I ran 2.7g tip and 2.4g inner for rivets. I would run 9100-9200 for cpr pipes. Sounds like you're real close. Told ya you'd like the 8CA weights w/the bender 49/37 helix.
