So I need to redo my clutches....sled had a bender kit 47/43 helix, not sure on the spring...looks like heel clickers (notched primary case) w/red spring. I have the stock weights (8dn-20) which weigh 51g and a secondary w/stock helix and green at 70.

My question is this....I want to dial the seld in, probably 8bu-10's but I would like to do more research and pickup the clutch book etc. Is the stock setup decent for everyday riding and if so what primary spring should I use? Or should I just do a 8bu setup since I have everything apart ?

TIA

the aaen clutch tuning hand book is in the tech section on this site.. in the clutches and jetting section for snowmobiles. best part about it is its free. check it out. lots of good info. ;)!

I think I'll go with a stock setup for now...since I have the parts. Did the 8dn20's weigh in at 51g ? I guess I'd be looking for a www spring as well. Also, is the secondary w/ green at 70 ok with the stock weights ?

8dn-20's, 4.5 in both holes along with a y/s/y or w/w/w and a 51/43 helix with green @ 70ish gets ya close to 8500 on top.

search lots of good info..

I would buy new springs from a dealor and run the stock setup.Than experament on the lake with the 47/43 and stock weights it should overrev on top so than add weight to the tip to bring it down if it is not to high.

The healclickers are nice for race but are hard on old clutches when trail riding.

what year u got ...y-w-y if it come with 8dn-20 ...but do work great with w-w-w

Looks like I'll take it back to stock for this year...at least as a baseline to start tuning from. A stock clutched srx is no slouch either.
