under hood heat

i put my PSI tripple pipes on my 98 sx. under hood seems to be getting a lot hotter. will it melt the hood and what can i do to prevent anything from happening?

Check how close the pipes are to the hood you should be ok with a couple inches. Do you still have the sound deadening foam on? That may melt. You can take the foam off and line the hood with some heat tape (the metal silver stuff) You can try to raise the hood slightly with 1/4 inch washers at the hinge (like the vipers). thanks, i left the foam on and loaded the under hood with heat tape. pipes are almost hitting under head light i think that i am going to cut out a patch of the foam and really line it well with heat tape. some of the foam has melted a little but i think that it might help a little it doesnt bother me and it doesnt stink like burning rubber. i think that i am going to mess with the hood too. other people have suggested it. sled goes now!!
