Good Day For Night
Len knight takes fiqure 8 finale at Rockton.Dave Frost wins overall title
The Lucas Oil Fiqure 8 Series wrapped up thanksgiving weekend at the rocton fall fair in rocton ontario.
Sixty cars showed up to do battle in front of a capacity crowd.
Eight heat races and one consolation race set the stage for the feature field, which included Glen Hills, Chris Knight, Jamie Rivers, Dave Frost, Dave Patton ,Jamie Cox, Sid Prima, Len Knight and Mark Bazuin.
From the drop of the green flag Chris Knight jumped to a early lead, with Bazuin and Hills doing battle behind him.
Meanwhile patton was on a charge and following a tap on C Knight assumed the lead.
Unforunately for patton his car broke three laps later, handing the lead to Hills, who was involved in a heavy scrap with Bazuin,Cox,Prima and len Knight.
As the laps ticked off,the track became litted with cars that were either broke or stuck, creating an obstacal course through which Knight, Bazuin and Cox took turns leading at various points.
In the end the wiley Len Knight found a shortcut hole, leading Cox,Bazuin and Hills past the checkerd flag in the order.
Despite the battle....and even after surveying his battered mount...
Knight commented that "it still has a few races left in it"
In the final points chase Dave frost was crowned 2011 champion at 76 points 7 points ahead of past 2 year champ Chris Knight.
Len Knight was a solid third ahead of Peter Becker and Charl Sarisan.
