i was so proud last season to find a 98 and an 01 srx ..the01 had been stumped. wrecking the arm and shock and putting a nice wrinkle where the arm attatches to the tunnel and the 98 was a 1 owner with a bum cylinder..i bought them both right... i put a piston and cyl in the 98 and was riding... after some research here i kept hearing the 01 carbs was the best set up of all srx's... so i pulled my 01 carbs and after a quick cleaning slapped em on the 98 ... u guys already know the end of this story... i found out w/ the ign being diff. the hot cyl. was not the one with the fat jet... good thing parts are cheap...lol :homework:

HARD TO BELIEVE HERE YOU READ TO JET A 98 SRX LIKE A 01. I WOULD SAY 2000 OR A 2002, BUT NOWHERE EVER HAVE I READ A 98 NEEDS 01 JETTING. 3:16 (yammie tony)

Ouch.. Thats a duught moment. I have never seen that either. The post you were reading was to change 00 to 01 jetting. 00 was right on the edge!! Then in 02 they want back to 00 jetting because of dcs..

Something weird here. It shouldn't have blown up especially with richer jetting from the 01 with the congested airbox from the 98. Better look elsewhere.

Exactly. 2 and 3 would be the same with #1 jetted even fatter!! 98 #1 was 146 and 01 was 150.
