Hello Members,

I purchased a used SRX last week with 4500 miles. Is there any other spec changes I should know about? You were all a great help with the spark plug spec change.

Do you run the stock belt?

What two stroke oil do you use?

Its been stored since 2007 and is in mint condition, anything I would double check or change?
Coolant? gear oil? I havent had a sled since 1983 !

Below are upgrades the guy added to the sled.

he replaced the stock track with a Complast rip saw / 196 carbide picks.

The rear suspension rods have been replaced with Bender Hot Rods to allow better weight transfer.

he installed a one tooth lower chain sproket to increase acceleration.

he installed a Bender cold air kit to allow cooler air to be drawn in under where the dash gauges are.

Bender clutch weight kit in primary clutch this raised the engagement speed.

Thanks again for all your help, Tim

TIM RIDE IT AND HAVE FUN. THE YAMAHA STOCK BELT WORKS BEST, USE GOOD FUEL AND I MYSELF USE AMSOIL INTERCEPTOR FOR OIL. WILL POST TO YA 2007 ALONG TIME AGO AND I BET YOUR CARBS NEED TO BE CLEANED. 3:16 (yammie tony)

Make sure you remove and clean the carbs. You need to make sure every circuit in all three carbs are CLEAN!!!! Check the jet sizes while you have the carbs apart and compare them to the stock jet numbers. Check the airbox to make sure it has all the baffles and dividers. Some guys "gut" the airbox when they install the Bender cold air kit. A gutted airbox makes the engine jetting VERY sensitive therfore no a good idea for trail riding. You should drain, flush and refill the chaincase oil. Remove and check the drive axle bearing. You can remove the seal, clean out the old grease and contaminants and repack it with synthetic water resistant grease or replace the bearing. heck the condition of the bearing in the rear suspension, might as well do it now rather than finding out you have a bad bearing(s) during the short riding season. Pull the power valves, clean and adjust them. Get the service manual or the owners manual and look at the reccommended service items. You will be surprised how much more fun the sled will be with the investment of a relatively small amount of time to perform the service items.
