I wouldn't pay more than $1700, but I'm cheap. I think the 98/99's around here are selling for 1000-1500 and the 2000+ are selling for 1500-2000. Guys list them for $2500 on craigslist but I see them there month after month.
 
Wish my sled was that clean. Id pay $2500 for that sled. Maybe a lil cheaper cuz of the higher miles, but you would never know looking at it.
 
Looks a lot cleaner than mine was when I got it. I paid $1900 for mine with about 5000 miles and it was no where near that clean.

Are you sure that is a roller secondary on there? Looks like just a regular helix on that clutch.
 
yep $2500 is what he wants for it... and your right about that secondary helix... im honestly not too sure what it should look like... maybe it is just a aftermarket helix and not a roller... the guy seems to really know his stuff tho so im not sure why it wouldnt be what he says
 
TYLER, THAT AIN,T NO ROLLER SECONDARY ON THAT SLED. JUST A DEFFERENT HELIX THAT GOES WITH THAT CLUTCH KIT. CLEAN 01 LIKE THAT ONE WORTH $25 ALL DAY LONG. 3:16 (yammie tony)
 
Man... in the Mid-west we are seeing sleds like that going for a lot more. I just bought an 02 which there are not that many around and paid $2950. It needed a little TLC but will look pristine when I get done with it. Seems that the old 2strokes are holding ther own here in Michigan with new sleds selling for $12-$14k. Its hard to find a decent one for less than $3000. The 02 was bone stock with the odometer reading 1094 miles.????? Good even compression on all 3 cylders. It will make a great stock trail sled.
 
I live in Iowa and paid $1800 for a one owner 98 SRX700 with 4500 miles. (stored since 2007) Super clean like the sled your looking at.
 
tony i just text messaged him doubting the secondary and he says it is the hauck kit and he will take a better picture when he gets home. he said you could see the blue anodized ring if you looked real well..

Hard to see in that picture, but yes it uses stock or Hauck helix.

clean lookin sled in the pics. id go down there and check it all out just to be sure.. its all that he says it is.. pics can sometimes be decieving. the ugly usually lies under the sled where you cant see in pictures. hopefully its as well maintained as he makes it to be. would def be worth around 2 to 2.5k at that rate. if ya look at it and like it.. nuttin wrong with offerin a little less then what he wants and saying you got cash in hand.. money talks.
 
I picked this baby up yesterday... im pretty damn excited about it, turns out it also has heelclickers, the motor turned out to be a little oily, but not grimey, i think some grease cutter and hot water will make it really nice... but as extra measure im going to spray foaming engine degreaser... check the carbs and everything else while i am waiting on snow...

the biggest disappointment is that the skis are the original ones with 7800 miles on them... they are getting pretty thin, luckily uncle chuck already has a set i can get for less than $100

i could tell that once i called the guy and told him we were on our way, he started to realize that his baby was actually going to be leaving... and once we got there you could tell he wasnt too excited about selling it but he knew he didnt have time for it since he had a apex. he gave me a few other goodies like the stock exhaust, hyfax, 4 bogies, a brand new high windshield...
bring on the snow!!!
