Would you install opticool gaskets aswell with a Peak head? Planning to install a set of Peak heads on my Mtn Viper and with the improved cooling / rail design i'm wondering if its worth it to order a opticool gasket (I ask due to some shipping concerns with a opticool dealer)?

cant speak for peaks, but I'm having some srx heads setup for my viper right now and was told to use the stock gasket as the opticool was for the poor design of the stock head. also heard the same with the mega powers=stock gasket.

Kind of what I was thinking. Judging by the design of the Peak head and rail i dont think the cooling will be nearly as poor as the factory head. Mind you I have never really had a problem with the over heating up here.

I have a peak head and the instructions recomend using a opticool head gasket. IF you choose to buy one I don't recomend getting it from bender unless you don't wanna ride your sled this winter. Took 3 months to get mine.

That was the dealer i was talking about... great guy to talk to and lots of information just seems to be some shipping issues.

not sure but i would probably use the opticool if i could. the peak has better cooling than stock, but if u are comparing to the srx with that style heads, the reason they dont use it is because their base gasket already has the restriction like the opticool head gasket does for the viper.
if it were me i would use the opticool unless u use the srx style base gasket then it would not matter, my thought is they both accomplish the same thing. bender racing had them but i have head of some bad shipping stories from there lately, there are a few other performance shops around that can get the opticool for u if u are having trouble.

Yes, you should use the Opticool HEAD gasket, but it is not necessary to use the SRX BASE gasket w/ those heads/Opticool Head gasket. I do have the Peak heads on my Viper so speaking from experience and per their recommendations.

i just purchased from bender myself very recently. i got the opticool, clutch puller, helix, and a couple other odds and ends... ordered saturday online, they called me monday to verify my helix angle because the online site wouldnt let me enter it for some reason. they told me they had to cut that angle. had the helix cut and all my parts i needed shipped to my door 2 days later on wednesday. i live in the same state as them so this helps too. sry to hear about your bad dealings with them tho. take the good with the bad i guess.

I've ordered opticools 2x from them and I received my order w/in 1 1/2 weeks each time. Like andrew k said take the good with the bad.
