ok guys... on my 01 SRX i noticed that i was getting a code flashing on my dash... i'm sure by the flashes and according to the service manual it's a TPS malfunction. what does this thing actually do and what harm am i doing to it running it with this issue... thanx

replaced mine last season.It sends a signal to the CDI as throttle opens,here is a thread I had on it last season..

i just got my new TPS installed today. the stock TPs was a non-functioning unit. maybe it's just me but i noticed it started easier (3-4 pulls instead of 8-10) and the idle was smoother. i don't have snow here so i can't ride it, but it does seem to make a difference.

did you re-calibrate the new TPS .That has to be done..there is a procedure on it in the manual and on here.I just made a testing device for my calculations..
