I need to replace the little brass washers under the head bolts. I was wondering if i can just replace them one at a time so I don't have to replace the head gasket as i just did replace it, but didn't replace washer as i should have. Or is this a bad idea and need to do it all over again? Its a 2002 viper
Thanks
Thanks

I dont see any probs doing one at a time, just re torque as you go
I don't see why you couldn't do one at a time then just retorque the whole head when your done. Following the maintenance manual retorque pattern.

Why do you have to replace the head washers?? Are they bad??

That's what I was wondering too. They're not like the thin brass washers you would find on, say an oil drain bolt. Are they squashed right out? Interested to find out the answer.
I replaced the head gasket and not the washers, 3 of the washers were leaking just a bit of antifreeze after running it and then letting it sit. So now got new washers just wondering if I need to strart over or just replace the washers one at a time, or will this break the seal.

I dont think this will create any problems with your head gasket. I would still drain the coolant level below the head though before you start.
