One of my riding/work buddies bought a 2000 SRX this spring for the same price. It is showroom with only 1000 actual miles. Still a sought after machine (actually I found it for him). I would check the tech section for clutching tips. My buddy is a machinist so every shaft has now been trued, track spun backwards and nailed, clutches machined and over drived............I can't wait to see how it performs.

I just bought a 2000 SRX 700 for $700. Bought it from a friend, said it doesn't have any spark. My dad and I are big into working on small engines but it has been a few years (like 7) since he has worked on a snowsled. We haven't gone in to it to start trouble shooting but the guy I bought it from thinks it might be the stator. I too was kind of wondering if I got a good deal or if it depends on what I find wrong with it. Hopefully it is something little and I will have gotten a good deal.
The SRX stock will run with 800's, new or old. Proper clutching only makes them faster. But still sounds like a fair deal.
