i ve got a ovation for my daughter that when i bought it at the end of last yr ran great. this fall pulled the carb cleaned it reinstalled it freash gas and notta
. seems if you choke it and hit the electric start it kinda wants to start and if hold the throttle wide open it will start and wanna run for a min or so. thinking maybe the crankcase seal or seals possably are leaking and its sucking air ect... my question is whats the best way to test the crank seals ?
also have read the twin single carb that is stock leaves alot to be desired.
whats a good replacement as the oil injection cable feeds off the carb linkage.
also thought about dropping in a complete air cooled engine out of a 95 venture too. any thoughts befor i tear into this thing? thanks

The Yammi 340 FC engine is bullet proof and I not think your problem is in the engine.
I think the problem is in the
* Fuel pick up in the tank.
* Fuel pump.
* carburetor.

Throw that funky "Teikei" carburettor in the trash can and put in an ordinary Mikuni VM-32 or VM-34 instead.
