So I know that this topic has been discussed but I just put two 35W bulbs in as a dual headlight setup on my '98 SRX700. I have been using just a single bulb in the dual headlight but thought of trying the two 35W bulbs. I used another wire harness for a H4 bulb and spliced it into the existing wire harness. Now I am having some issues with the setup, one light is bright and the other light is really dim. So, right now I am wondering if the 35W bulbs are still to powerful for the stock '98 stator. Another note is that I have changed the tail light and gauge lights to all LED's to reduce total wattage. So does anyone have any thoughts?

Im guessing not but did you wire the headlights in series? Would explain why one is dimmer. I think you have a wiring issue though, as if it was wired correctly, both bulbs should be the same brightness.

I think you have one hooked up on high beam and the other one on low beam. Its a three wire bulb. Ground, low, and high. Its a dual filament bulb.

mine is set up the same no problems. check your wires or get new bulbs or switch bulbs from one side to another.

So I know I am not an Electrical Engineer but pretty sure I have them wired in parallel. Please see my crude sketch of how I wired the two 35W bulbs.

Yeh thats wired in parallel. Im thinking you have a bad connection somewhere. With the sled running Id check how much voltage you have at the bright bulb and then at the dim bulb. If voltage is the same, then you have a ground problem(which I would guess is the problem)

Well I think I must of had a bad ground because I took all the wires that I connected apart. Then rewired everything back up and works great. Thanks for all the feedback, now I just need some snow to go play.
