SRX 700 Front Heat Exchangers interchangeable from year to year?

I don't think the 98's came with them so Yamaha sold some aluminum ones with a pin on the top that fit into a hole and then gets riveted on the bottom. That way they could be installed without removing the track. I think 99-02 all cam with steel ones that were riveted on top and bottom.

Hmm. That would explain why I could not locate the part number or illustration for one on the exploded view of a 98.

Are all the front heat exchangers the same from 1998 to 2002 on the SRX 700? thanks.
I think he is looking for a heat exchanger and not protectors????? If that is the way I am reading it...

The situation is I am about to buy a front heat exchanger from a 99, and I have a 2000. Wondering if the 99 and 00 model year are the same part. thanks guys.

they are the same, the first few years they were not listed as a separate part number, it came with a frame.

I have one off ready to ship out if you need one, can send tomorrow usmail priority, including rivets to do the job correctly.

Yup! You're right. I guess I should take more time reading the posts. :)

I'm in the processes of swapping mine out right now. I am installing a 1 in. hacksaw track on my 02 SRX and the front heat exchanger protectors that are on there now are 1 in. thick and the new track will rub. Bender has them and they are just a tad over 3/4 in. I think they are all the same for the SRX 98-02 according to Bender.

I have one from a 98 SRX 600. I'm pretty sure they are the same but I don't know for sure. If you're interested I can pull it out of the chassis and verify the condition. But I believe it looked really nice. $75.00 shipped.
