Hi guys i just bought a clean 1989 srv540, but when i got it home I noticed the headlight was dim even when reving the motor. Then I noticed the gauge lights and brake light were dim also. So i pulled the headlight bulb off and started it and the dash lights and brake lights are now bright until I plug the headlight back in. What could cause this? Stator, Voltage Reg, Ground? Checked wiring looks good.
Thanks

Do they happen to be brighter when brake light comes on ???
Had an older model that the light socket was loose and didn't
ground except through brake circuit....clip a ground on headlight
and if didn't change , then try a new ground clipped to tail light .
Good hunting
