Does anyone know if the 2004 Blue Viper seat will directly fit the 2002 Blue Viper? (screw holes line up,tail light etc.)

thanks

I am debating buying the whole 2004 pleated seat from a blue model or having new foam installed in my stock '02 seat. Where can you get the foam redone? The stock foam in the 2002 isn't the greatist, IMO. On the other hand ,I always liked the pleated seat from the SX/SXR and the SRX's. I checked last year to buy a 2004 seat, it was around $500. Would Yamaha still carry that seat for a last year sled?

Here's a link, the dealer you bought the sled may be able to give you a better deal seeing as how they would probably like you to be happy with your Yammie. Otherwise check some other forums like hardcore sledder, snowmonkeys, snowmobileworld, or probably a bunch more that have swap meet areas - you may find somebody with a totaled 04. Going to be hard to find a used seat though .. everybody wants an 04 seat!!

Yamaha shows either the seat as a complete assembly or a replacement cover only.

Too bad, they'd probably have alot happier customers if they offered a foam kit. I've heard alot of people wishing the could get an upgrade to their 02 - 03 seats...

Bought my daughter a venom, that has to have the softest seat on any yami I have owned,I would like to find one along with what ever else I would need and put one on my SRX.-Harvey

Is the difference between the 04 and 02 seat in the cover? Looks like the 04 cover may have the extra foam stitched into it. Just wondering if it's possible to make an 02 seat into an 04 seat, if the base foam is the same. Might be a little cheaper to do it that way.

Send a PM to betheviper and ask him about refoaming a Viper seat. I believe he is the one that put foam out of an SRX into a viper seat. He had to reform and trim the foam, but he ended up with good results.

I now have the 2004 seat on my Viper. It is much more comfy on the long trail rides compared to the original seat. I sold the 2002 seat to a guy from Ontario. I ended up buying mine brand new from my dealer. $500.....oh well. Ya gotta do what you gotta do. I called all over the country(salvage yards) looking for a 2004 seat with no luck.

I went with a Boss as opposed to upgrading to an 04 seat. Guess what? The boss is not that comfy either.

Probably gonna sell the boss and pony up $500 too.
