My secondary clutch has some side to side play......I think this is normal but my old srx didnt have any movement side to side.......is this normal and if it is does anyone know how much play is acceptable? thnks

Yes its normal. Some guys do fix the secondary for racing. It has play for self alignment.

oh ok cool this helped allot! but is it normal for it to all of a sudend starts clicking really loudly cause it was sliding back and fourth on the shaft. my belt had a huge chunk out of it i think thats what was causing the ticking cause i just got a new belt on mine and it stopped. but the side to side play on mine is my primary clutch and thats why im worried. sorry if im butting in on your post but i dont want to open up another one. plus a guy would read this to with out having to go to another forum. thanks

Primary clutch should not have ANY play on the shaft. It is bolted solid directly to the tapered end of your crankshaft.
