If I use a srx base gasket om my viper motor do I still have use a opticool head gasket? also would a sxr rear heat exchanger cool as good as the srx heat exchanger? Thanks
 

Here is a good post on the base gasket and opticool. http://www.totallyamaha.net/forums/showthread.php?t=51963&highlight=SRX+base+gasket I think it boils down to if your stock and running a SRX base gasket the stock head gasket is fine. I run a stock viper base gasket and opticool head gaskets and my sleds are stock. The SXR exchanger will cool just the same as the SRX. But the SXR exchanger has different size hose connectors. The SRX is a direct hookup and you will have to do some mods to make the SXR exchanger work but it will work.
 
Thanks for the help super1c. My motor is apart so I figured this is the time to adress head gasket or base gasket
