Hey Guys.. I understand the driveshaft bearing is a 6205 w/ rubber seals. Where would I find the speedo side bearing with the collar? Links would be great.

Take it to your local bearings and drives place and they can cross reference it. Make sureyou pump the bearing cover full of grease to keep water out of it which causes the bearing to rust over the summer.

My chain side bearing blew up last weekend after a 50 mile ride. Took the chaincase with it. I getting rid of the reverse system and going back to stock. Might as well replace the speedo side bearing while I have everything apart.

Dealer item only. U may get lucky somewhere else but I've done two bearing replacements and only found that particular bearing at the dealer or online

Yea your telling me.. Drove 5 hours to Hurley, WI. 150$ in gas, 50$ in food, 10 hours behind the wheel, getting 50 miles into your trip before boom... Priceless. After wrenching on the thing all summer I was sure I was good to go... Guess I forgot one minor detail...

Oh well... I was looking for a reason to get rid of that reverse system anyway. :) More top end for me.

Anyone need parts from a reverse system. All gears, chains and internals in good shape.

I know a company called allballs make replacements. I have not used them but they have good ratings. If you search here you will get ya and na. But i would think they would work just fine. Dennis kirk sold them the last i looked but havent needed any yet. When i thought i had a bearing problem it turned out not to be. But these kits include everything you need. Bearing, new seals, c clips ect...... Google them. Chris

I just installed the All Balls kits in mine (both jackshaft & driveshaft). I guess I will find out if they hold up. The bearings were KML brand. One thing I noticed on the two bearings with the collars is that they are sealed AND shielded. At first I wasn't sure if they were sealed because of the metal shields but I found a cut-away online and it shows seals behind the metal shields.

I don't think the reverse will hurt your top end, you do have less gearing options but you can make it work. I'm just saying this because I love my reverse and wouldn't be without it.

Royal Distributing has those pto side bearings for half the price of the dealer.
My question is, why can the seal not be popped out on the left side and a grease fitting installed just like Polaris has done?

Currently, I just replace that bearing every 2 yrs because they dont last.

I use NTN bearings from Royal and have lasted me years of service.I open one side to the oil in the chaincase and it stays lubed..no grease fitting required.

yes it is not a 6205 bearing, dealer only.

i did not get the correct speedo bearing in the all balls kit either. think i will repack it instead. bummer because i was hoping the bearing cover would seat better than it did. so im forced to service and reuse the oem bearing with 5000 miles on it already
