whats is a better sled the 750 or 800? wich is more reliable? how do these compare to the sxr and other tripple sleds? i see these all day on craigslist with less then 4k miles from 800 bucks up to 2500 bucks are they more of a play/trail sled or more of a straight line sled? how would it compare to my brothers piped and clutch zrt 600?

Unmolested, the 800 is the better of the two. A zrt 600 shouldnt even be mentioned in the same week as a vmax-4.

im sorry if i offended you guys by mentioning a cat lol. but i found a nice vmax 4 800 for 1200 bucks has 3800 miles 1in track and 144studs i am looking for somthing old that will beat my brothers zrt.
might i ask what you ment by mentioned in the same week?

just sarcasm, i'm not offended at all. Those two sleds are not in the same category, a vmax-4 at 800cc's should have no problem detroying a 600cc sled piped clutched or dropped out of a plane.

ok thank lol i have my 600sx for my everyday rider i want to get another sled because people like to race up and down the rivers and i am looking for somthing that will compete with other sleds. i was told that the vmax 4 800s are like electric motors the second you give it gas its smooth power all the way to the top.

if you can get one for $1200 then you are gonna do ok. At that price you're getting more than 10hp/$100. On my quad piped 750 I have seen the dream-o-meter touch the k in km/hr. Thats about 20-30 km/hr past 180. Rivers are where I love to drive mine the most. Rear suspensions are not the greatest, except on the '97's which have a pro-action and are still not the greatest. And yes, they are smooth all the way up.

Rustman has it down. (funny effer too)

I also ride mine on the river. T'is the perfect environment for a 4.

With a good running 800 (even a 750)------------

If you have the drivetrain properly tuned (smooth running and free), properly studded and carbides for high speed ice carving and clutched for it's potential the only stock sled that might give you trouble are the big tripple T-Cats and and Mach-Z's from the same era.

All others will be left wanting........ Add some quads and some other "go fast" tricks and not much short of boost will go around you if it's done right.

Effin ANIMALS!!!! The perfect tool for exposing "victims" in the high speed world of river runnin.

thanks for you input guys i hope to pick one up this season and trick some firecats into racing.
