Ice scratchers on Vipers
Anybody run rail mounted ice scratchers on a Viper using one of the adapters Yamaha and some other companies offer to use them without removing a wheel? Thought about going this route instead of removing a wheel or drilling the rail. I may just try a ski mount version. Not really interested in the sidekick cable type and that would need drilling in the rail also. Also anybody ever run just one scratcher vs two? Curious if that would be enough for keeping things cool in certain conditions and save some hyfax life.

Made some for my skis last year for about 3 bucks. Couple bolts, washers, couple pins to push through the bolts. This weekend I'm going to put a sheath for the bolt to ride in so it doesn't elongate the hole in the ski. Works really good, really throws snow onto my rails and rear cooler. Easy to put on and take off. just my .02

Yes i do. I run the RSI scratchers and adapters on all three of my vipers. I looooooove them. They work very well. My skids on bare ive are packed with chips and my sliders seem to last also. I run both sides. Here is a pic of them on my daughters skid.

Got any pics?
I did my scratchers the normal way. However, I did meet a guy on the mtn once that had his set up so he mounted the pivot point the normal way but the anchor end (at least that's what I'm calling it.... the end that goes into the skid) was free to pivot on top of the rail. It would rest on top of the skid rail whether going forward or backward because it would just flip over to the other end. This allowed it to avoid getting caught up when going backward.
I thought it was a pretty smart way of doing it.
