Backwoods M Max

Hey all,
So I was thinking about this the other day after I stumbled across it in the service manual while looking up something for someone else.
My mountain max has reverse, so does it still have the 40/21 gearing in the chain case or not? I haven't opened it up and have no reason to in the future and won't do it just to count the teeth. Does anyone else out there have a 02 mm with reverse that gone into the chain case?
I went to do the service on the chain case last weekend and ran the slack out of the adjuster. The bolt sticks out a lot shorter than in the pictures from the manual for a non reverse mm, and obviously things like a different ratio or reverse is going to change the position of the tensioner.
So, what does everyone think? It's just something that's been on my mind the last couple days and none of the service decals on the machine give any hints to what is in there.
