have a friend who purchased a 01 sxr 700 off ebay, from a well known dealer in MI, the pics looked good, ad said fully serviced at our dealership carb cleaned etc, only thing needed was snow, well this dealer is 300 mile road trip, he goes and gets this thing saturday brings by my shop for storage and i start going over it, the engine is held in with one motor mount, all the other mounts are missing bolts or broke in two, i threw my eng aling tool on it and the cc is off 3/4 inch and offset wont even go on primary clutch to close, he asked what i would do, dont know, ive got the tools and knowledge to fix it , but the ad said ready to rip jus add snow, i would except to have to maybe get hifax and carbides, check clutching, jetting you know the usual , i hope they make this right w him, even if they do he has a 600 mile trip there and back , the good deal not looking so good anymore, and it does has bender tripple pipes on it, man those pipes sound good, i havent checked jetting yet, im waiting to see what happens, but what would be a good base setting with those pipes 150 across the board :letitsnow :letitsnow

Keep us posted on what they do for him and let the rest of us know who the dealer is so nobody else gets took! Gil

just got off phone with dealer, they are sending new motor mounts to my shop, so all will be good, ;)!

still strange that their service department would of missed that.Usually you are taking a big risk buying used sleds from a stranger, but a dealer you would think would be a little better.Goes to show you these days buyer beware on everything it seems. But I know of a guy out here who got taken by a Dealership after spending $1200 for servicing his sled..goes out for one of his first rides and Kaboom goes the motor. And they never did anything for him,,they actually wanted more money so they could open the motor up and tell him what caused it,They were supposed to have cleaned the carbs..but I am suspect that they didn't and they just told the guy it was his fault.Wander what this dealer would of done in this case.Supplying motor mounts is a smaller issue which was nice they resolved in order to preserve their name..
