swapping motors in my srx wich is a 98 the transplant motor is from a 01,any difference on the cdi.I,m also running a 600cdi for 700.

yep, the cdi is differnt, so is the stator, flywheel, engine case, you might be able to run the 98 stator with the 01 flywheel, never tried it but they might be the same diameter(stator coils). The 01 stator will not work with the 98 cdi, the 98 is a 175 watt system, the 00-02 is a 300watt system with 3d ignition and a throttle pos. senser on the carb rack. The best thing to do would be to get the whole wiring harness,cdi,carb rack,headlight, pod,dash and grips from the donor 01, this would upgrade ya to the big headlight and seprate controls for warmers, alot better ignition system.
