SX700 front shocks question

Had a little mishap which has left one of my front shocks mangled and bent. I'm wondering what is my best option concerning a replacement, as since the machine is a '01 with many hard miles and is used as a spare, I don't want to buy a brand new shock. I heard it's possible to install Viper shocks which would be an upgrade. Thoughts...

yes. viper or sxr shocks should work. just use part #8CR-2376B-00 This is the bushing needed to put in the top of the mount where the clevis of the new shock will go. There are many people parting out vipers/sxr's on this site so it shouldnt be to hard to find a pair.
