Well, decided it was time to clean the Carbs and power valves on the Viper.
I hadn't cleaned the power valves last year so I was interested in how they'd look. I must say that Amsoil Interceptor oil seem to keep the valves pretty clean. I just had to do a minor clean-up. (2 seasons)
I pulled the carbs and they too were pretty clean. I think that SeaFoam really works. I will never use Stabil or your plain-jane fuel stabilizer again.
I put the sled back together, put in fresh gas and fired her up. Started really quickly. However when I took it for a spin I was not impressed. It just wasn't running like my good old Viper used to run. It had a mid range lack of power/bog. Since I was extremely busy with other stuff, I left it for a couple of days. Every night when I hit the sack, I'd lay there and wonder what it might be, what had I missed? Three days later I was laying there and it hit me. I didn't reconnect the carb vent line to the air box! Hmmm, I wonder if that would make that much difference..... WOW does it ever make a difference.
My Viper is back!! I love that sled!!
