Viper, Time to choose

go look at them, no one here can tell you what sled is better by a couple pictures...

me, i take everything in consideration, who owned it , what there vehicles look like, what mods are done, look over everything!!!

then make your decision and if you know how to talk you may even be able to negotiaate things you dont like!!!
GOOD LUCK

Like Matty said, check em' out in person. Mention that you've always fogged your motors every spring to the owner and watch their eyes. If they dont look confused and chime in about fogging thats a good place to start. Make sure you do compression checks and look em' over real good. W-arms, etc. You'll know pretty quick if they've taken care of them. You can always try and negotiate on the price. If you're unsure on something, check back on here and ask some questions. Just my .02.

Neither one is a bad price if they've been taken care of. Like was mentioned, I like to hear if they fogged them for storage or not...

If they both look okay, then the choice will be up to you on whether you want a triple piped sled or a single piped...expect about 6-7 mpg on the SLP tripled piped Viper. The SLP piped one will need flo-rites and the underhood air blocked to eliminate the powder bog that the triples create...
And if the stator hasn't been replaced on the '03 yet, expect it to go soon, very common on them...

the 2005 looks like its being stored in a clean heated area which shows that the owner cares for it and didnt the 05 come with better suspension. i thought it was a little funny that he would buy new lights but then cover them up. And the 03 looks like its being ridden a little hard if i must say

My votes for the 05... much better rear skid (Promountian), DCS, handgrips / controls are same as current yamaha sleds, pretty good stock skis (deep powder), lower mileage and doesnt have pictures of himself jumping it. lol

lol yeah im not sure i want the sled with the kid jumping it hahah

Like somebody stated above the 05 has the newer Promountain skid and DCS. We have a couple 05's and they are great sleds to own. And the saddleless ski is nice to have for the deep snow.
