i bought a cdi box for a 01 srx to run higher rpms with diffrent pipes from hauck power sports,when i got the box it had 8ek # on the box which is a viper cdi box,so what im wondering is this just a stock viper box that works better on a srx,they told me the box is a factory modded box and its not just a stock viper box im having a hard time believing this anybody have any info about this thanx

I GOT THIS VIPER CDI STUFF DOWN PRETTY GOOD THANKS TO SIDESHOW BOB AND MOPAR1 RULES. 8EK IS A 2002 BOX. THEY ARE HOT AND ADD ALOT MORE TIMING THAN A SRX BOX. I DON,T kNOW WHATS DONE TO THAT BOX ITSELF YOU HAVE, I CAN TELL YA VIPERS BOXES ADD ALOT MORE TIMING AND AT A HIGHER RPM. WORTH A TRY FOR SURE. you should call hauck or install it, lift the sled and get out the timing light, see what it does. viper boxes are hot but go flat around 8600, then start to retard around 8800, if your running high rpm pipes, a viper box will not help you. If you run the light on it, the timing should keep increasing past the above rpms.
